W1M Wealth Management has reached an agreement to acquire Vermeer Partners for an undisclosed amount.
The transaction is subject to regulatory approval and is expected to complete in the spring of 2026.
Vermeer is an independent wealth and investment management partnership based in London with more than £2bn in assets under management (AUM).
W1M, a wealth and investment management firm for high-net-worth (HNW) and ultra HNW individuals and families, charities, and institutions, said the acquisition was part of its ambition to become a leading integrated wealth and investment manager in the UK.
This is W1M’s first acquisition since Waverton and London & Capital’s merger in July 2024 and the rebrand to W1M in June 2025.
It said the transaction would help build the scale required in an increasingly consolidating market, whilst continuing to deliver strong client service, investment expertise, and wealth solutions.
Vermeer was established in 2018 and serves a network of HNWs, intermediaries, charities, and trusts, providing bespoke wealth and investment services.
W1M said the deal rounded off a successful year for the firm, which is approaching £25bn in AUM following net new asset growth of 7.5 per cent over the last year.
“While organic client growth remains our core focus, we are also actively seeking high-performing teams and businesses that share our values and would find a welcoming home at W1M, both culturally and strategically, for their people and their clients,” commented W1M Wealth and Investment Management CEO, Guy McGlashan.
“Vermeer fits that vision perfectly. We are delighted to welcome them into the business and will ensure a seamless transition for their clients.
“Our priority will be to continue delivering outstanding service while introducing them to the broader wealth offering that makes W1M unique; something we believe will add immediate and lasting value.”
Vermeer Partners executive chair, Simon Melling, added: “In W1M, Vermeer has found a partner that provides the breadth of capability our clients demand, and which also shares our client-first ethos and long-term investment philosophy.
“This combination will enable the Vermeer team to meet an evolving set of client needs against the backdrop of a fast-changing industry landscape.
“There is no doubt within the Vermeer team that W1M will be an outstanding home for both current and prospective clients and our team. We are delighted to be joining their exciting journey to become one of the UK’s leading wealth managers.”
