Financial services technology firm iPipeline has completed the acquisition of Origo for an undisclosed amount.
The digital solutions provider has received all regulatory approvals for the acquisition, including from the UK Competition and Markets Authority.
The transaction expands iPipeline’s presence in the UK wealth and retirement markets, with the Origo and Unipass brands to continue as an iPipeline company.
Origo is a fintech for the financial services industry, with its offerings including letter of authority servicing, pension transfer indexes and services, asset migration, and pensions dashboards services.
iPipeline said that, as insurance, retirement, and wealth management become increasingly connected, firms are looking for technology that simplifies interactions across products, partners and channels.
Its acquisition of Origo is aiming to strengthen its ability to create this connection while expanding the capabilities needed to support the future of digital financial services.
"As financial services organisations face growing pressure to modernise operations and deliver seamless customer experiences, the ability to connect people, processes and information has become increasingly important,” said iPipeline chief executive officer, Pat O’Donnell.
“Origo's expertise in trusted connectivity aligns closely with iPipeline's strengths - enhancing our ability to help customers reduce complexity, improve collaboration and operate more effectively.”
iPipeline managing director, UK & Europe, Rachel Edwards, added: "By combining Origo's trusted connectivity capabilities with iPipeline's technology, we have an opportunity to create a more connected ecosystem that simplifies interactions, supports growth and delivers better experiences for the firms and customers we serve."
Origo chief executive officer, Anthony Rafferty, said joining iPipeline would enable the fintech to continue focusing on making it easier for firms to connect while maintaining a transparent and collaborative approach.
“We have an opportunity to strengthen the services our customers rely on today while helping drive greater efficiency and innovation across the industry,” he concluded.
