Nedbank Private Wealth has named Karim Chowdhury as head of private banking, Isle of Man.
Chowdhury has joined the firm from Union Bancaire Privée where he was director of private banking. He has more than 15 years of experience in private banking and wealth management, having held senior positions in the UK, Jersey, and Bermuda. His previous roles include vice president – private banking at Butterfield Group and managerial positions at Schroders Personal Wealth and HSBC Expat. Based on the Isle of Man, Chowdhury will report to Nedbank Private Wealth executive head of wealth management, Simon Gibbons, and will lead the local private banking team.
RBC Brewin Dolphin has appointed four wealth managers across its London, Cambridge, and Cardiff offices.
Mursal Ali has joined the London office with over 14 years of experience in wealth management. He specialises in providing investment advice to high net worth individuals (HNWI) and families. Prior to joining RBC Brewin Dolphin, Mursal worked at Barclays Private Bank and Barclays Wealth Management. Joining him in the London office is Tom Kieldsen, who brings almost a decade of financial planning experience to the role. His previous jobs include financial planning positions at UBP and its previous incarnation, SG Kleinwort Hambros, as well as at Vanguard and Nutmeg. Emily Tarrant has been appointed to the firm's Cardiff office, bringing over a decade of experience in financial services to the role. Prior to joining RBC Brewin Dolphin, she worked as a financial planner at a partner practice of M&G Wealth Advice and as an investment executive at the Development Bank of Wales. Finally, Nick Trickett has joined RBC Brewin Dolphin's Cambridge office. He has returned to the firm after a 12-year career there as an investment manager. Prior to returning, he worked at Cambridge-based firms NW Brown and Evelyn Partners
Flagstone has appointed Arman Tahmassebi as its chief executive officer (CEO).
Tahmassebi succeeds Flagstone co-founder, Simon Merchant, who has decided to step down for health reasons. Merchant will continue as chair of the board and strategic adviser. Tahmassebi brings more than 25 years of senior operational and executive leadership in financial services experience to the role. He joined Flagstone as chief operating officer (COO) in early 2024. Prior to that, Tahmassebi spent five years as COO at LendInvest, and held senior positions at ETX Capital. He also spent almost 15 years at IG, culminating in three years as global head of operations.
