Members of the Association of Investment Companies (AIC) have elected Peter Hewitt to join the board as a non-executive director.
The appointment took immediate effect following the AIC’s general meeting last week (29 January). Hewitt is a director and fund manager in global equities at Columbia Threadneedle, and manages the CT Global Managed Portfolio Trust. The AIC also announced that AIC chair, Gordon Humphries, and Alex Denny have been re-elected to the board. Meanwhile, AIC Audit Committee chair and former Nominations Committee chair, Susie Farnon, has retired from the board.
LGT Wealth Management has announced 11 new partners, consisting of longer-term existing staff as well as eight investment managers who joined the firm through the acquisition of Abrdn’s discretionary fund management business in 2023.
The new partners are: LGT Wealth Management business development director, Brendan Macken; head of charities – Scotland, Gair Brisbane; and investment managers, David Sullivan; Anthony Emmings; Marco Evans; Craig Joiner; Kevin Bowhay; Charlie Thompson; Richard Harrison; Lewis Mackinnon; and Toby Willis. LGT Wealth Management said the announcement demonstrated the significant contributions of both its long-standing colleagues as well the eight investment managers who joined following the 2023 Abrdn acquisition.
Brown Shipley, a Quintet Private Bank, has appointed Thomas Clarke as client adviser in Nottingham.
Clarke joins from Woodgate Financial Planning, where he was a financial planner. Prior to this, Clarke held several roles in financial planning support, including as a private client administrator and trustee paraplanner at Brown Shipley from 2014-2018. Clarke reports to Brown Shipley head of Nottingham and Birmingham, James Garman. The firm stated that he will work with colleagues across Brown Shipley and Quintet to further strengthen client relationships.
