Schroders has announced the appointment of Oliver Gregson as CEO, wealth management, subject to regulatory approval.
Gregson will assume the position on 2 June 2025, replacing Mary-Anne Daly who will be stepping back from the role but will continue as a strategic adviser to Schroders’ wealth business. Gregson will also join the Group Executive Committee and report to group chief executive, Richard Oldfield. In his new role, Gregson will assume responsibility for Cazenove Capital, Benchmark, and Schroders Personal Wealth in the UK. He will also lead and be responsible for the expansion of Schroders’ wealth business internationally. Bringing 25 years of experience in wealth management, private banking, and asset management to the role, Gregson has previously held senior positions across the UK, Europe, and international markets. Most recently, he was region head for the UK, Ireland, and the Channel Islands at J.P. Morgan Private Bank.
M&G’s Life Insurance Business has named Chris Hudson as director of distribution as it looks to “ramp up” its ambitions for distributing its flagship £62bn PruFund range of funds.
Hudson will be responsible for driving the growth of M&G’s Life Insurance’s UK distribution strategy across all channels, with a particular focus on the UK intermediated market. He will lead the team responsible for the distribution of the company’s individual life and pensions products. The appointment comes as M&G managing director of UK distribution, Rob Hickson, has decided to leave M&G after 32 years at the company. Hudson will join M&G on 10 March from Standard Life UK, where he was managing director – retail and intermediary. Prior to this he held senior sales and distribution roles at LV=, Aviva, Friends Life, and Aegon.
Quilter Cheviot has announced it has hired Nicola Toyer as a director within its charities team.
Toyer joins from Investec Wealth & Investment UK, where she most recently served as head of charities and previously as investment director. She also worked at Smith & Williamson, which has since rebranded to Evelyn Partners, starting as an investment manager and progressing to associate director. Toyer will report to William Reid, Quilter Cheviot’s head of charities. As well as being responsible for managing charity investment portfolios, she will work closely alongside charity team colleagues across the firm’s regional network. As part of the specialist team, she will support growth in Quilter Cheviot’s charity business by building new relationships with charities, whilst also promoting the Quilter Cheviot Global Income & Growth Fund for Charities.
