People moves: iPipeline, Titanbay, and Farrer & Co

Wealth management digital solutions provider iPipeline has name Rachel Edwards as its managing director, UK.

Edwards will lead the UK business and join the company’s executive leadership team. Her appointment will take effect from 14 April, and she will oversee a seven-person team, guiding iPipeline’s UK business strategy and product roadmap. Edwards will report directly to iPipeline CEO, Pat O’Donnell. She brings 20 years of experience to the role, most recently working as Verisk global managing director. Prior to her tenure at Verisk, Edwards served as Healix managing director, Australasia. Edwards will take over from iPipeline senior vice president and managing director, UK, Ian Teague, following a “collaborative transition period”.

Private markets platform Titanbay has appointed Sheryl Needham as global head of distribution.

Needham brings more than 20 years of experience at the intersection of investment management, client strategy and distribution leadership to the role. Most recently, she served as an independent consultant to AllianceBernstein, designing their family office distribution strategy for EMEA and supporting several private markets growth initiatives. Prior to that, she spent more than two decades at BlackRock, where she held several senior EMEA-wide distribution leadership roles, including heading alternatives distribution for wealth, leading hedge fund distribution and, most recently, scaling its family office business.

Law firm Farrer & Co has appointed Alex Ruffel as a partner in its private client team.

Ruffel is a specialist in cross-border tax, structuring and succession planning, and joins from Irwin Mitchell, where she also served as a partner. She has experience in advising multinational families, trustees and family offices on complex tax issues and the transfer of wealth, including establishing and running trusts and other structures. Farrer & Co said Ruffel’s appointment will strengthen its private client team’s offering. She has particular experience in acting for clients with links to the Middle East and the Asia Pacific region.
