Rathbones has announced the appointment of Camilla Stowell as chief executive officer of wealth.

In her new role, which is subject to regulatory approval, Stowell will oversee both investment management and financial planning at the firm. She will take up the position on 23 June. Prior to joining Rathbones, Stowell’s most recent role was managing director, head of private and commercial client coverage, at Coutts. She is also a board member of trade association PIMFA. Rathbones recently announced plans to enhance services to clients this year with new investment products and advisory solutions to help meet long-term financial needs, particularly in the areas of inheritance planning and wealth de-cumulation.

Martyn Beauchamp has been named as the permanent CEO of the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS).

Beauchamp had been serving as interim CEO of the FSCS since October 2023. He was appointed to the role by the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) and Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). Prior to his role as interim CEO of the FSCS, Beauchamp worked in financial services for more than 20 years. While interim CEO, Beauchamp oversaw the FSCS’s transition to a new operating model.

Evelyn Partners has made three appointments to its wealth management teams in the north of England.

Mark Carter has joined its Leeds office as a director in financial planning. Carter has more than 30 years of experience in financial services, including the last 10 as a senior wealth manager. He joined the firm from Aberdeen, where he worked for five years, most recently as financial planning director. Evelyn Partners also hired Ross Bone as associate financial planner in its Newcastle office. Bone has 10 years of experience in financial services and joins from Equilibrium Financial Planning, where he worked for five years. Meanwhile, Gail Carr has been appointed to Evelyn Partners’ investment management team in Newcastle. She joins as a director from Rathbones, where she worked for four years as an investment manager. Carr has 20 years of experience in the industry, having previously worked at Brewin Dolphin within both the portfolio and investment management areas of the business.
