Quilter Cheviot has hired Maurizio Carulli as an equity research analyst.
Carulli will take on responsibility for the global energy and materials sectors, covering listed companies from the oil majors, to mining, chemicals, paper and packaging, building materials and steel companies. He joins the business from Carbon Tracker, an independent financial think tank that analyses the impact of fossil fuels, climate change and the energy transition on capital markets. Prior to this he has worked in asset management and stockbroking for thirty years as an equity analyst specialising in the energy and materials sectors. Carulli will report into head of equity research, Chris Beckett, and also work closely with the teams that manage the Climate Assets funds and the Managed Portfolio Service Building Blocks funds.
AJ Bell has named Ian Aylward as its new head of investment partnerships.
Aylward’s role will see him focus on AJ Bell’s bespoke managed portfolio service (MPS) for advised clients. Under the bespoke MPS proposition, the AJ Bell Investments team build and manage portfolios tailored to individual specifications for adviser firms and their clients. Aylward will take a dedicated focus on portfolios within this area of AJ Bell’s investment offering. Prior to joining AJ Bell, Aylward was head of manager selection and responsible investing at Barclays Private Bank and Wealth Management (PBWM), having also previously held roles at Aviva and Skandia over more than 25 years in the industry. During his time at Barclays PBWM, where he was responsible for managing a range of multi-asset and single asset solutions.
Cazenove Capital, the wealth management business of Schroders, has announced the appointment of Paul Andrew, who joins as wealth planning director for clients in the North of England.
Based in the Manchester office, Andrew will work closely with regional head for the North of England, Simon Pearson, and will be focused on managing the wealth planning requirements of high net worth individuals, families, and professional advisers. He will also be working closely with Cazenove Capital’s wealth planning team in London. Andrew has over 15 years of experience in financial planning and wealth management. For the past seven years, he has worked as a wealth planner at Brown Shipley, where he provided holistic financial planning advice to individuals and their families. Prior to this, Andrew worked at C. Hoare & Co. He has experience in all areas of financial planning, including tax efficient investing, retirement planning, financial protection and estate planning.
