People moves: Nucleus, Standard Chartered, and Carne Group

Nucleus Financial Platforms has appointed Louis Petherick as chief risk officer (CRO), subject to regulatory approval.

Petherick, who will join Nucleus in August, is an experienced CRO across traditional financial services organisations, as well as digitally led companies and wealth management firms. He joins Nucleus from Brooks MacDonald where he was group CRO for two years. Prior to this, he was CRO at FNZ UK and spent five years at AJ Bell where he was CRO and executive board member. His career also includes senior risk roles at M&S Bank, The Co-operative Bank, Lloyds Banking Group, ING Direct, and St James’ Place.

Standard Chartered has announced the appointment of Andrew Morlet as senior adviser, circular economy.

Morlet will support the establishment of a new Circular Economy Innovation Hub within Standard Chartered’s Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) Organisation, seeking to facilitate innovation in emerging areas of sustainability that offer potential for scale. Morlet joins Standard Chartered from the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, where he spent over a decade as CEO, driving the development and promotion of the circular economy as a tangible, bankable solution across the global economy.

Carne Group has named Lizzy Buss as managing director, business development.

Buss will be responsible for engaging with institutional investors, including existing and potential clients, as part of Carne’s UK growth strategy. Her primary focus will be on the Long-Term Asset Fund (LTAF) market and supporting fund managers looking to transform their in-house fund operations by fully outsourcing their authorised corporate director to a specialist provider. Buss joins Carne from MUFG Investor Services, where she served as an executive director. She has over 20 years’ experience in developing businesses with various roles at other prime brokerages, family offices, banks, and other financial services firms.
