The Investment Association (IA) has appointed Namita Kain to the newly created role of head of private markets and promoted Hugo Gordon from senior policy adviser to the new role of head of capital markets.
Kain joins the IA from Octopus Investments and will be leading the association’s work and engagement on all issues related to private markets, advocating for the investment management perspective on relevant regulatory and legislative developments and championing the role of private market investment in delivering economic growth. The IA created the role of head of private markets in recognition of private markets’ increased importance within the industry. Meanwhile, Gordon has spend more than 10 years at the IA specialising in capital markets policy. In his new role, he is responsible for all matters relating to public markets, overseeing the IA’s approach to policy issues on public equities and fixed income, FX, ETFs, and derivatives.
Puma Investments has announced the appointment of Jeremy Roberts as managing director.
The investment manager said the appointment showcased its commitment to delivering exceptional service and investment opportunities to individual investors, their financial advisers and wealth managers. Roberts brings more than 25 years of experience in fund management to the role, most recently working in global distribution roles at GAM Investments and Liontrust Asset Management PLC. Prior to that, Jeremy worked at BlackRock for 20 years, as head of the UK retail business and co-head of EMEA retail sales, serving private banks, wealth managers, IFAs, and charities.

Whitmill head of funds, Charlotte Blampied, has over 18 years of experience in Jersey’s funds industry, with technical expertise in the establishment and ongoing administration of both regulated and unregulated fund vehicles, as well as corporate structures. Whitmill head of corporate, Rob Lucas, is a chartered accountant and has over 24 years of experience in corporate, fund and private client services across Jersey and the Cayman Islands.
