AJ Bell has named Rob Burdett as the new independent chair of its Investment Committee.
Burdett’s appointment follows the retirement of current chair, Jim Sutcliffe, who has been in the role since the inception of the AJ Bell Investments business in 2016. Burdett has become chair with 30 years of multi-manager and fund selection experience in the investment industry. He is currently head of multi-manager at Nedgroup Investments and previously held senior positions at Rothschild Asset Management, Thames River, BMO Global Asset Management, Columbia Threadneedle, and Credit Suisse. As independent chair, Burdett will provide governance and oversight of the AJ Bell fund range and MPS service, including the investment strategy, asset allocation process, manager oversight and risk management.
Fidelity International has appointed Chris Robinson as investment director.
Focusing on the UK wholesale market, Robinson will work across Fidelity’s multi-asset range, including model portfolio services, retail funds and customised solutions. He will collaborate with the portfolio management and distribution teams to engage with clients on the team’s investment views and capabilities. Robinson brings over a decade of experience to the role, most recently working at Premier Miton Investors and Tatton Investment Management.
The Personal Investment Management & Financial Advice Association (PIMFA) has appointed Dan Boardman-Weston to its board of directors.
Boardman-Weston is the chief executive of BRI Wealth Management. He joined BRI in 2011 and progressed through several investment management roles before becoming chief investment officer in 2019. Boardman-Weston is a chartered fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment, and a trustee of the Heart of England Community Foundation and chair of a charitable trust.
