BlackRock has launched an evergreen private markets platform for wealth investors in Europe as it seeks to accelerate wealth access to alternative assets.

The platform, which is also available to Middle Eastern and Asian-Pacific clients, provides wealth clients with multiple fund exposure to institutional-quality alternative investments as part of the European Long-Term Investment Fund (ELTIF) 2.0 structure.

Platform investors will be able to access BlackRock’s private market products, such as private equity, infrastructure, private debt, and real estate.

It has launched with two initial funds in private equity and multi-alternatives, with BlackRock Private Equity Partners to manage the BlackRock Private Equity (BPE) Fund and BlackRock Alternative Portfolio Solutions to manage the Multi-Alternative Growth (MAG) Fund.

The BPE Fund is a global diversified private equity portfolio across industry sectors and company stages, targeting buyout and growth opportunities through direct co-investments and secondaries.

Meanwhile, BlackRock’s MAG Fund is a global multi-alternatives portfolio across sectors and geographies, looking to offer exposure to private equity, private credit, real assets, and ‘opportunistic’ investments aimed at driving capital growth over the long term.

BlackRock stated that it would look to keep investing in the platform to increase the range of strategies to include private debt, real estate, and infrastructure in due course.
