Peoples moves: FNZ, Foster Denovo, and Principal Asset Management

Wealth management platform FNZ has appointed Aashish Kamat as group chief financial officer and member of its Executive Committee.

Kamat brings over 32 years of experience in banking and financial services, private equity and public accounting to the role. Between 2019 and 2021, he was co-managing partner at L Catterton’s GCC Asia Growth Fund, and a senior partner in the Singapore Office. Prior to this, he held multiple senior roles across wholesale, investment, private and consumer banking. He was country head for UBS India between 2012 and 2018 and held regional COO and CFO positions at JP Morgan and Bank of America in New York and Hong Kong.

Foster Denovo has named Aimée Pitman and Jeremy Brettell as independent non-executive directors to the board of the group and limited company.

Pitman is a consultant with more than 30 years’ experience in leadership, strategy development and transformation, working across consumer and business-to-business services. She was a non-executive director and member of the UK audit committee at Canada Life (UK) and, in her role as vice-president at Gemini Consulting, she advised retail financial services firms on strategy and transformation. Meanwhile, Brettell has more than 45 years’ experience in wealth management and retail financial services, and is an independent chartered director and fellow of the Institute of Directors. His non-executive roles include chairing an investment manager overseeing £16bn, and a start-up bank. Brettell has also taken on the role of Consumer Duty champion for Foster Denovo.

Principal Asset Management has announced that John Fiddes and Jas Purewal have joined the firm as director, wholesale distribution, and associate director, consultant relations, respectively.

Fiddes will be responsible for driving sales with wholesale prospects and clients in the UK, Ireland, and Channel Islands, while developing and executing a market strategy to drive business growth. He brings a decade of experience in asset management to the role, joining from J. Safra Sarasin where he implemented the firm’s UK wholesale distribution arm. Purewal will be responsible for strengthening and expanding relationships with UK investment consultants. He joins the firm with a decade of consultancy experience, most recently as a senior investment consultant for Mercer.
