Schroders has announced the appointment of Jamie Fowler as head of UK wealth in its asset management division.
Fowler will be responsible for serving intermediary investors across UK wealth management spanning advisers, wealth managers, family offices, and discretionary investors. Schroders’ product range for these investors includes unit trusts, OEICS, investment trusts, model portfolios, and sub-advised mandates across all the major asset classes. Fowler has been with Schroders for more than 20 years and has worked across its regional channels, most recently as head of regional and advisory sales.
7IM has made two senior internal appointments, naming Harriet Massie as chief transformation officer and Chris Phillips as chief value officer.
Phillips was chief transformation officer prior to his appointment to the newly created role of chief value officer. He joined 7IM in 2019 and has experience in product, marketing, customer experience, and transformation, having previously held senior roles at Barclays and Lloyds Banking Group. In his new role, Phillips will lead 7IM’s Product & Marketing function, with oversight across proposition, product design and development, product governance, and brand and marketing. He will also play a key role in shaping 7IM’s long-term strategy. Massie has been with 7IM since 2017 and most recently served as transformation director. She will lead 7IM’s Transformation team, overseeing the delivery of its platform investment programme, and drive the execution of 7IM’s broader transformation roadmap.
Aviva Investors has appointed Roland Derks as global high yield portfolio manager.
Derks has over 15 years of investment industry experience, having held a variety of portfolio management roles at Goldman Sachs over the past decade, including convertibles portfolio manager and high yield portfolio manager. He also held analyst roles at both Nomura and Deutsche Bank earlier in his career. Derks’ appointment comes alongside two new internal appointments as sector leads within the Fixed Income Research team. In the newly created roles, Carmen Altenkirch will become the lead for sovereigns and EM corporates, whilst Martin McCudden will be the lead for consumer and TMT.
