Quilter Cheviot has appointed John Goddard as chief executive officer.

Goddard joined the business in early September and succeeds Andy McGlone, who will depart at the end of the month after 31 years at Quilter Cheviot. Goddard joins Quilter Cheviot following 28 years at HSBC, where he held several senior leadership roles overseeing key developments within the group. He brings experience in driving strategic growth initiatives across multiple businesses and jurisdictions to the role.

Weatherbys Private Bank has announced two new appointments as it continues its growth push.

Maria Khan has been named as director of products and services, bringing experience in strategic innovation and digital development within the banking sector. She joins from Tandem Bank, where she was director of product and digital. Prior to that, Khan worked for JPMorgan Chase and NatWest Group. Weatherbys has also appointed senior private banker, Michael Juby, the fourth new banker to join the business this year. He has spent his 30-year career focusing on high and ultra high net worth clients, firstly at HSBC Private Bank and then with Citi. Most recently, Juby worked for Citi’s Wealth at Work division, with responsibility for a portfolio of law firm clients.

Ortec Finance has appointed John O’Driscoll as managing director, OPAL financial & wealth planning.

O’Driscoll was previously divisional director, business development & advice at St. James’s Place Wealth Management. He will be responsible for leading the product development strategy for OPAL, Ortec Finance’s advice technology used by banks, pension providers, and wealth managers. O’Driscoll brings more than 20 years of experience in financial services to the role. At St. James’s Place, he led the development of advice and planning tools, including the rollout of AI and automation solutions.
