Nucleus Financial Platforms has promoted Mike Regan into the newly created role of deputy CEO.
Regan initially joined Nucleus in 2022 as chief financial officer and currently acts as chief commercial officer. He will retain his current responsibilities and, as deputy CEO, provide support to CEO, Richard Rowney, in working with the executive team to lead the business and develop group strategy. Nucleus said that Regan has played a key role in driving the firm’s transformation since joining, including the acquisition and integration of Curtis Banks and Third Financial.
The Jersey Financial Services Commission (FSC) has appointed Lynn Cleary and Robert Milner as commissioners.
Cleary brings over two decades of leadership experience in finance, governance, and strategic transformation to the role. She served as chief financial officer of Royal Bank of Scotland International for 17 years and currently holds several non-executive roles, including with Foresight Solar Fund Limited, Ports of Jersey Limited, and the government of Jersey’s Treasury Advisory Panel. Milner is an advocate of the Royal Court of Jersey, specialising in the investment funds sector and a longstanding contributor to Jersey’s financial services industry. He is a partner at Carey Olsen and has worked to shape local regulation through his work with the Jersey Funds Association and various legislative and regulatory working groups over the past decade.
Octopus Ventures has appointed Jamie Kennell as senior partner and head of portfolio strategy.
Kennell joins from Pembroke Investment Managers, which managed the Pembroke Venture Capital Trust (VCT). He initially joined Pembroke as head of investment portfolio, before being appointed as chief investment officer in May 2023. During his 35-year career in finance, Kennell has also taken on senior roles with NatWest Markets, KPMG and 3i PLC. Latterly, he worked with Corporate Finance International and Beringea. At Octopus Ventures, Kennell will be responsible for strategic oversight of portfolio performance across the funds managed by Octopus Ventures.
