People moves: Evelyn Partners, PGIM, and Schroders

Evelyn Partners has appointed senior hire Vanessa Lee to its Northern private client tax team.

With more than 27 years’ experience, Lee has a focus on advising high net worth individuals, families, family offices, and trustees on a wide range of tax and dispute planning. She has worked with both high-profile clients and those which are on a growth trajectory. Lee has previously held senior positions at professional services firms including BDO and EY. She also comes with a breadth of broader experience, voluntarily supporting Yorkshire Children’s Charity as a trustee, a long-term supporter of Tax Aid and The Prince’s Trust, and as chair of finance and investment at The University of Hull. Based in Evelyn’s Leeds office, Lee will also work with tax teams in Evelyn Partners’ Harrogate, Manchester and Newcastle offices on all aspects of private client tax and succession issues.

PGIM Multi-Asset Solutions (PMA) has named Mao Dong as its co-head of portfolio management.

Dong joins PGIM from Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM), where he spent over 14 years, most recently as co-head of OCIO portfolio management and head of portfolio construction and manager research. At GSAM he led a team of portfolio managers in overseeing strategic and dynamic asset allocation, manager selection, portfolio implementation and risk management for OCIO portfolios globally. Dong also served as senior portfolio manager for several of GSAM’s multi-asset class funds across global equity, fixed income and public real assets. At PMA, Dong will be responsible for designing and managing multi-asset portfolios for institutional clients, including developing and applying relative value views across public and private investment strategies.

Schroders Capital has promoted Nick Montgomery to the role of global head of real estate, subject to regulatory approval.

The appointment comes alongside the formation of a new leadership team, which aims to further strengthen its real estate capabilities and client proposition. Montgomery is currently head of UK real estate and will take over from Sophie Van Oosterom following an ‘orderly transition’. He has been at Schroders for 12 years and has overseen growth of the UK business, including new mandate wins and the launch of Schroders Capital’s Real Estate Impact Fund, recently approved by the FCA to use the ‘Sustainability Impact’ label under SDR. Montgomery has a “long-term track record of delivering outperformance” for clients across a range of strategies including the UK-listed Schroder Real Estate Investment Trust.
