Benchmark Capital has named Karan Sejpal as head of wealth management.
Benchmark, which is part of the Schroders Group, appointed Sejpal from Cazenove Capital, which is also part of the Schroders Group, where he led the discretionary fund management team, entrepreneurs team, and regional offices. He was also non-executive director on the board of Schroders Personal Wealth. In the newly created role, Sejpal will have responsibility for revenue and growth across Benchmark's employed, self-employed, and independent partners’ adviser channels, as well as all advice and wealth activities. He will also have regulatory responsibility for Benchmark's advice business, and join Benchmark's board as an executive director. Sejpal has more than 20 years of experience in the wealth management industry, having held roles at Credit Suisse, Barclays and UBS.
Quilter Cheviot has appointed Colin Monton as head of client development - corporate and entrepreneur, and Maria Gardner as investment director.
Monton joins Quilter Cheviot from Rathbones where he was head of business development for its Greenbank sustainable investment arm and previously led its private client and charity growth strategy. Prior to that he has held senior roles at Coutts & Co, Tilney, Smith & Williamson, and HSBC. At Quilter Cheviot, will be responsible for driving growth in the company’s business owner exit proposition via both private clients and professional connections and intermediaries. Additionally, Gardener was named as investment director in Quilter Cheviot’s Jersey office. She brings experience in the financial services sector, having held senior roles at Asset Risk Consultants and more recently as head of family office for HSBC. Gardener will be responsible for delivering bespoke investment solutions to a range of international private client, trustee, and company structures.
Evelyn Partners has added ex-professional rugby player Chris Dean to its Edinburgh financial planning team.
Dean spent over a decade with Edinburgh Rugby Club and made more than 150 appearances. He has been appointed in a business development role, while also training as a financial planner. At Evelyn Partners, Dean will develop opportunities for both the financial planning and investment management teams at the Edinburgh office, aiming to strengthen relationships with key contacts and raise Evelyn Partners’ profile in the marketplace, with a particular focus on the firm’s ‘total wealth management’ offering.
