People moves: Atomos, Bentley Reid, and Aviva Investors

Atomos has announced the appointment of Joshua Gennet as its head of investments.

Gennet replaces Haig Bathgate, who will continue his work with the business as chair of the Atomos Investment Oversight Committee. Gennet’s career to-date includes 10 years managing investment risk as a portfolio manager and trader, and a further 13 years in business development, product and sales. Over his 25-year career, he has worked for Morgan Stanley, BNP Paribas, and MSCI. Most recently, Gennet co-founded Ethical Capital Opportunity Advisors, a boutique UK investment management firm focused on global equity absolute return strategies and ESG investing.

Employee-owned wealth manager Bentley Reid has named Matt Finch as director, wealth management.

Finch previously worked for 7IM, where he was an associate director in the Private Clients team. He started his career at Unividual. Matt assumes the responsibilities of Bentley Reid director, wealth management, Andy Hurst, who is retiring after almost 30 years with the firm, and will be based in the firm’s London office. “We are thrilled to see further expansion of the senior team in 2025,” commented Bentley Reid CEO, Peter Clark. “Matt will provide experienced guidance to our clients and support them in reaching their financial goals, while ensuring the consistency of our bespoke services.”

Aviva Investors has appointed Gita Bal as its head of fixed income research.

In this newly created role, she will be based in London and will report to Aviva Investors global head of fixed income, Fraser Lundie. At Aviva Investors, Bal will be responsible for leading the firm’s research team across global fixed income markets. She joins the business from Fidelity International, where she spent the past 13 years in a variety of roles, mostly recently as global head of research, fixed income. She also previously held analyst roles at PIMCO and CreditSights.
