PE firm Stone Point Capital invests in UK wealth manager Amber River

UK-based wealth manager Amber River has announced it has secured investment from private equity (PE) firm Stone Point Capital to support its next phase of growth.

The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed and is subject to regulatory approvals and closing conditions, with the deal expected to complete in the summer of 2026.

Founding PE investor Penta Capital is remaining onboard as a key investor.

Rothschild & Co provided financial advice to Amber River and Penta Capital, while Dickson Minto acted as legal adviser.

Continuum Advisory Partners acted as financial adviser to Stone Point Capital and Paul, Weiss provided the firm with legal advice.

Stone Point Capital is a financial services-focused investment firm with more than $70bn in assets under management (AUM).

Amber River is a financial planning business with £13.6bn of AUM and advice, with over 330 independent financial planners, advisers, technical experts, and investment professionals across 13 regional wealth centres in the UK.

Its partnership with Stone Point Capital aims to bring in expertise, capital, and strategic support for its next phase.

The agreement will also enable Amber River to bring its service proposition ‘Life Landscaping’ to a wider audience.
