Capital International Group has acquired Affinity Private Wealth’s (APW) investment business APW Investors Limited (APWIL) for an undisclosed sum.

The acquisition, which is subject to regulatory approval, builds on the group’s entry into the Jersey market in 2024, extending its presence beyond its established operations in the Isle of Man and South Africa.

Capital International Group said the transaction would enhance its service offering, expand its client base, and reinforce its commitment to responsible and sustainable investing.

APWIL offers a range of services, including discretionary investment management, investment oversight and advisory, model portfolio services, and execution only.

The investment business advises and distributes the Affinity Better World Growth Fund, with Capital International Group’s intermediaries, advisers, and clients to gain more access to the UCITS fund.

Capital International Group was advised by Walkers’ Jersey team on the acquisition.

The transaction is expected to complete in Q4 2025, subject to regulatory approval.

Commenting on the announcement, Capital International Group head of asset management, Antony Kelsey, said: “This acquisition represents another significant milestone in our growth journey and greatly consolidates our initial Jersey presence.

APW chief executive officer, David Stearn, said parting with the firm’s investment team was “emotional”, but that the sale was an exciting opportunity for the team to continue to build and enhance their existing offering with scale.

“We are delighted to see the investment business pass to great new owners who have a very similar culture and value set, and we have no doubt the team will flourish at Capital International," he continued.

“As for Affinity, we will continue to focus on growing and expanding our private client structuring services and look forward to the journey ahead.”
